Bridging the past to the future

The Old Stone Bridge over Brown's Creek near Stillwater, Minnesota

The news that the Department of Natural Resources has acquired the railroad tracks along Brown’s Creek near Stillwater for a new segment of bike trail is great. The next logical thing to do would be to incorporate preservation of a historic stone bridge along the new route.

Shoreline

It was hot Sunday, and humid. The air was heavy. At the urging of my amazing partner, who said that summer only seems too short when you pass on opportunities to get out and enjoy it, I went fishing, though my primary purpose was to stand in a river.

Canoeing the upper St. Croix on the first day of August, we call the storm’s bluff, and are rewarded with solitude.
