The annual early spring canoe outing has been thus dubbed with its name because the most consistent memory from year to year is pairs of ducks fleeing the canoe every hundreds or so.

Legacy Amendment money at work in St. Croix watershed

The St. Croix: clean water, great recreation, and valuable habitat.

Amendment funds are being recommended for projects which would purchase conservation easements along the lower St. Croix, restore habitat in a trout stream tributary, and improve skiing at Lake Elmo Park Reserve.

Ryan and I took yesterday to drive around the Minnesota and Wisconsin border, snowshoeing, checking out animal tracks, and otherwise appreciating winter in the St. Croix River watershed.
